Hypothesis by Philippe Parreno

Reportage of Hypothesis by Philippe Parreno, the first exhibition of the french artist in Italy.

2016
Philippe Parreno is a French contemporary artist that earned acclaim around the world for his work with different media. Taking the exhibition as a medium, Parreno radically redefined the exhibition experience by exploring its possibilities as a coherent “object” rather than as a collection of individual works.
In February 2016, Parreno presented Hypothesis, at HangarBicocca in Milan, his first survey exhibition in Italy. The show, curated by Andrea Lissoni, was inhabited by a series of key pieces together with recent works and music according to a mise en scène devised by Parreno. We were commissioned to document his work by Kvadrat, a major sponsor of the Exhibition in Milan.
